Why did you choose a career in law?

It’s a very respectable and secure profession, and I genuinely thought that solicitors earned vast amounts of money!

What attracted you to your particular specialism?

The adrenalin and satisfaction from bringing a transaction to completion

What is the most enjoyable part of your job?

The people. Those I work with and those I work for.

What particular challenges are you facing in these tougher times?

Lack of visibility and predictability, and therefore planning.

Where do you think the opportunities for growth will be in the legal profession in the next few years?

For Eversheds in particular, working with businesses that have an international strategy.

What’s been your most enjoyable recent piece of work?

The acquisition for Berwind Corporation of the Manchester-headquartered international business, BWA Water Additives Limited.

What inspires you when it comes to your work?

Working with people that I consider to be my friends.
