A DAY IN THE LIFE OF.... Radd Seiger – partner at Kennedys, Birmingham...
Before Work...
I'm an early riser. I'm usually up at around 5am. Depending on which way the wind blows - and whether I am visiting any of our UK or international offices, seeing clients, or in Court - I either drive, take the train or fly. I usually have breakfast on the run!
Mornings...
I like to get to my work places early to give me plenty of time to catch up with people I work with before the grind of the day starts. I'm not a coffee or tea drinker so I usually dive straight into meetings at around 9am. When I'm in the office, I meet with colleagues to discuss a range of issues; sometimes they are on client matters and other times they are on internal matters such as team and firm performance and building the business. I detest long meetings so I usually try to keep them interesting, short and to the point!
Lunchtime...
Lunch is frequently a luxury but when I do catch up it's usually with colleagues or clients and I try to aim for 12.30pm.
Afternoons...
The afternoons are usually spent travelling between our offices or in meetings; either with clients or colleagues.
Evenings & Free Time...
I coach both youth football and rugby so Wednesday and Thursday evenings tend to be devoted to sport. I usually work pretty late Mondays and Tuesdays with a short break to see the family when I get home but I frequently pick up the reigns again when the family are all asleep. I try to organise client nights out on Mondays and Tuesdays too whilst Friday nights are preserved for catching up with friends.
