What time did you wake up this morning?
5.15 – being a naturally early riser is a blessing but also a curse.
What’s your favourite object in your office/home office?
Drumkit (home office only though, unfortunately).
Who is your closest colleague?
I couldn’t pick one – it’s all about the team.
Do you have a favourite family heirloom?
No idea why but the solitary heirloom which has been entrusted to me is a Victorian set of carving knives which comes out every Christmas Day to carve the turkey.
What’s your favourite song of all time?
The toughest question and one to which I’d probably give a different answer every day of the year. I’ll go for “Heroes” by David Bowie.
What’s your favourite play?
N/A – I much prefer film.
Who’s your favourite movie star?
“You talking to me….?” .…Robert De Niro.
What’s your favourite book?
The Kite Runner.
What book are you reading right now?
Alchemy: The Surprising Power of Ideas That Don’t Make Sense.
What book do you wish you had written?
A toss-up between The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
What’s the greatest invention of all time?
The Internet.
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Basketball (to make better use of the fact I’m 6’6”).
Who inspires you in business?
Anyone passionate, authentic, who cares and doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
When you are back in the office will you dress up, dress down or somewhere in between?
Any and all of the above – entirely depends on my mood and what I’ve got scheduled on any given day.
Where do you go to relax?
Holidays, home, golf course, bar and behind my drumkit.
What country have you always wanted to visit?
Argentina.
Besides your phone, what do you always have with you?
Wallet.
What’s the best part of your job?
Variety and interaction with so many different colleagues and people.
What’s your favourite post-work tipple?
Beer (preceded by a margarita on Fridays).
