The co-founder of crypto and investment scam recovery specialist Wealth Recovery Solicitors (WRS ETL) shares his passions and interests.
How do you like to start the day?
My day starts with a nice crisp walk. Once off the Metrolink in Manchester I grab a STRONG oat cappuccino and a ginger shot, which really sets me up for the day ahead.
What’s your favourite object in your office/home office?
It would have to be my notepad. After I have had my ginger shot, I get a to do list freshly done every morning.
Who is your closest colleague?
It depends on the day of the week, and if I am working from home it’s Monty the mini dachshund.
Do you have a favourite family heirloom?
No.
What’s your favourite song of all time?
“Yellow” by Coldplay.
What’s your favourite play?
I don’t have one.
Who’s your favourite movie star?
Leonardo Di Caprio – especially in Wolf of Wall Street.
What’s your favourite book?
The first Harry Potter
What book are you reading right now?
The Smartest Guys in the Room by Bethany McLean and Peter Elkind
What book do you wish you had written?
The Harry Potters- I would be retired now.
What’s the greatest invention of all time?
Probably the internet.
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Football (properly).
Who inspires you in business?
Alan Sugar: someone who is self-made, started from the bottom and has done it consistently for years.
In the office do you dress up, dress down or somewhere in between?
A balance of smart casual, enough to feel like I am going to work but not too formal.
Where do you go to relax?
Probably my home cinema, where I can put a film on or play FIFA.
What country have you always wanted to visit?
I think at the moment the place that really intrigues me is Columbia.
Besides your phone, what do you always have with you?
Probably my AirPods, I love walking and listening to music.
What’s the best part of your job?
Changing our clients’ lives for the better. They come to us at rock bottom, and a lot of the time we are their last hope to get their money back. When this does happen we know we really have changed their lives and it is extremely satisfying.
How do you unwind after work?
Cook a nice dinner. I enjoy cooking at do find it quite calming, and then wind down post dinner by watching something, most of the time light-hearted.
Finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?
I have watched the odd Love Island.
