How do you like to start the day?
Predictably, with a nice strong coffee.
What’s your favourite object in your office/home office?
My Sonos speaker – when it works.
Who is your closest colleague?
My wife, Angelique who joined Migrate in September 2022 after 20+ years in teaching. She adds a fun, commonsensical and nurturing side to the business.
Do you have a favourite family heirloom?
We’ll kick-start this practice with our kids.
What’s your favourite song of all time?
Torn on this, but when it comes to the desert island: “Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who.
What’s your favourite play?
One where my son dressed up as spiderman when we lived in France 15 years ago. Can’t remember the name though.
Who’s your favourite movie star?
Harrison Ford
What’s your favourite book?
Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow (as an adult) and The Hobbit (as a child). The latter will stick with me for all time.
What book are you reading right now?
Black Holes: The Key to Understanding the Universe by Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw.
What book do you wish you had written?
What’s the greatest invention of all time?
Electricity.
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Golf – I just wish I had the time.
Who inspires you in business?
Richard Branson. Historically, has really valued his employees (which in turn gets results) and has a swashbuckling nature.
In the office do you dress up, dress down or somewhere in between?
We are definitely in between. Smart and relaxed – never starchy.
Where do you go to relax?
My garden.
What country have you always wanted to visit?
Canada. Got close but, as yet, no cigar.
Besides your phone, what do you always have with you?
A key of some sort – either to get in the house or car, rarely both at the same time unfortunately.
What’s the best part of your job?
The collaboration – coming up with new ideas as a team.
How do you unwind after work?
Virtually climbing the Alps on my bike followed by a Netflix boxset or Married At First Sight - Australia (when it is on)
Finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?
Finding a good road and really driving it, coming back and having a strong IPA. Never at the same time mind.
