5.30 am.
What’s your favourite object in your office?
A very large cuddly green frog in a running vest that was given to me by a grateful client.
Who is your closest colleague?
My PA, Hayley, who organises me.
Do you have a favourite family heirloom?
No.
What’s your favourite song of all time?
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
What’s your favourite play?
Not sure that I have one.
Who’s your favourite movie star?
Dustin Hoffman.
What’s your favourite book?
For a summer holiday read it has to be a John Grisham book.
What book are you reading right now?
The Ardennes 1944 by Anthony Beevor.
What book do you wish you had written?
The Harry Potter books; not that I have read them but the money must be nice!
What’s the greatest invention of all time?
The Internet.
Is there a sport that you wish you could play?
Rowing as I never tried and tennis if I could excel at it.
Who inspires you in business?
The entrepreneurial clients who are always looking to start something new regardless of how successful they are.
Dress up, dress down or somewhere in between?
Somewhere in between.
Where do you go to relax?
Somewhere quiet with few people! It’s a close run thing between the Yorkshire Dales, the Cheviots or the Northumbrian coastline; all are brilliant.
What country have you always wanted to visit?
Argentina.
Besides your phone, what do you always have with you?
Cash.
What’s the best part about your job?
Understanding a complicated commercial/legal issue, finding a solution to it and persuading the other side to accept the solution...happy days.
What’s your favourite post-work tipple?
A nice warm pint of real ale.

Warm sausage rolls.
