What time did you wake up this morning?
07:00 – the new “normal” for a Lockdown workday. With no commuting, I don’t have to get up too early. Getting up at this time still affords me the luxury of a pre-work workout and breakfast before getting stuck into the day.
What’s your favourite object in your office/home office?
Alexa – I think I would be lost without her these days. She entertains and she informs. Without her the online shop would be impossible. She has, however, got a tendency to answer back sometimes!
Who is your closest colleague?
Tinkerbell, my Bengal cat!
Do you have a favourite family heirloom?
Yes -an artichoke plant in the garden. It originates from the family home I was born in many years ago and has survived various moves.
My father has nurtured it for over 50 years and gave me a cutting about five years ago which is now thriving and producing 30+ artichokes each year. It even has a name – Arnie.
What’s your favourite song of all time?
Dancing Queen. ’Nuff said!
What’s your favourite play?
Mamma Mia.
Who’s your favourite movie star?
Tom Hanks – I’ve loved him from afar for over 30 years.
What’s your favourite book?
Who Moved My Cheese? Very relevant right now. It’s a motivational business fable which simply provides you with an amazing way to deal with change in your work and in your life.
What book are you reading right now?
I have just finished an easy reading James Patterson novel.… light, easy, mindless… perfect for a Sunday afternoon in lockdown!
What book do you wish you had written?
Harry Potter. I’d be on a beach sipping cocktails by now.
What’s the greatest invention of all time?
Digital scales… a game-changer for cooks of all abilities.
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Golf – and I do try!
Who inspires you in business?
Daniel Priestley.
When you are back in the office will you dress up, dress down or somewhere in between?
Down. I’m a casual, comfortable dresser by choice. Pus I work from home in normal times as well as in lockdown.
Where do you go to relax?
Kefalonia – a beautiful, unspoilt Greek paradise.
What country have you always wanted to visit?
Canada. I will do when we can.
Besides your phone, what do you always have with you?
Apple Watch. I love my gadgets and technology.
What’s the best part of your job?
The satisfaction of helping someone/a law firm “do” better marketing (get new clients, improve the client experience, get better value, learn, grow etc.)
What’s your favourite post-work tipple?
Red wine. Cabernet Sauvignon.
Finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?
Cadbury’s chocolate. Can’t beat it.
