What will I get if I refer a friend to a recruiter?
The answer is...
It depends on what incentive the firm offers - it could be vouchers or a lovely bottle of wine, or any other lovely 'thank you' gift really... The thing is, have you thought about how recommending someone might actually help you move too and make you feel so much more at ease. Moving jobs can be many things; exciting, adventurous, but it can also make us a little apprehensive as we don’t know what it’s going to be like and there are always unanswered questions.
If you secure a role within a firm that you know is heavily recruiting and you have a friend who you think could also be great, which is often the case and you work well with them why not suggest it to them as well. It might actually make you feel more comfortable and in the long run make you both have a better experience as you know that you are working with someone that you have built a relationship with and trust.
When I'm speaking to my candidates I always ask who else you know - it’s part of my job as I'm here to help people secure better roles that they will enjoy and prosper in. In fact, in the last 4 months, most of my placements have come from referrals. Conveyancing is booming and yes we do need good quality candidates like yourself and we are always happy to help others that you know. I always think of the phrase: "...Good people associate with other good people.", so take it as a compliment.
