The long road from chambers to recruitment
Having started my career as a Barristers clerk within two sets of Manchester chambers, it was clear that I would always be involved in the legal sector.
Those early days in chambers certainly afforded me an experience that very few environments offer. Following my time in chambers I moved into residential property at a time when the property market was booming. I worked within a couple of extremely busy fast paced residential conveyancing and re-mortgage departments at big firms within the City. Conveyancing departments at the time were overflowing with work and firms had to work hard to keep up with the demand, whilst maintaining a quality service. My career then took a diversion into Personal injury where I managed the New Client team of a top 50 Law firm before moving into business development for the largest legal network in the country, where my job was to sell our product, a free legal referral network and its many services.
So why the move into recruitment I hear you ask? Well after 16 years I realised that maybe now was the time to refresh, retrain and look to utilise my skills in a different way. The transition from a legal services sales role into niche legal recruitment is proving to have been a sound choice, showing that it is never too late! Whilst still working within Legal Services I have now come full circle and specialise in the residential property arena.
The residential property market is currently experiencing a real boom with continued growth expected. We are currently working on behalf of a number of large recognised conveyancing practices that are recruiting at all levels across the North West, Yorkshire and the North East.
