Paralegal recruitment

Having been at BCL Legal for almost a year, I thought it would be good idea to do an updated blog on the types of roles I typically recruit for, considering there have been a few changes since I joined.

When I first joined the private practice team at BCL legal, I focused on recruiting paralegals across all of the non-contentious disciplines but due to a restructure within the team, I now focus on contentious disciplines too. However, focusing on all areas within these disciplines would mean I would be too thinly spread. Therefore, I tend to actively work on Corporate, Real Estate and Litigation positions and these are the roles that I get instructed on most frequently and the level of experience can range from 6 months to 3+ years.

I also place a large number of paralegals who have Training Contracts secured, with or without previous paralegal experience. Whilst I do not regularly recruit into the family, immigration and insurance sectors, I do from time to time get instructed by a number of firms who seek paralegals with experience in any of those specific areas.

Not only has the candidate side of things on my desk been slightly more streamlined, the client side has too! I now tend to work with Magic Circle, Top 100, US and specialist boutique firms which means I have a range of options for candidates with backgrounds in Corporate, Real Estate and Litigation.
