One topic which has made headline news and is likely to remain at the centre of controversy is the recent ‘Panama Papers’ scandal.

So what is all the hype? In a nutshell, ‘Panama Papers’ refers to 11.5 million files which were leaked from a database of one of the largest offshore law firms, Mossack Fonseca based in Panama.

The highly confidential document revealed details of how secretive offshore tax regimes (aka offshore tax havens) are exploited by the rich in our society amongst them public figures and high-profile politicians (no names included in this article!).
