Legal recruiters are like personal trainers
Legal recruiters and personal trainers support you through challenge and guide you to success; they help you to achieve your goals, and they can get you there with great rapidity (without sacrificing on quality/your desired outcome).
For the past few years, I’ve been going to the gym but it’s been inconsistent. I wasn’t getting the results I wanted because the effort wasn’t there and my diet wasn’t right. From April 2019, I decided to change this. I started by changing my diet and upped my gym session to 4-5 times a week – most importantly, I invested in a personal trainer. With the right equipment (that’s always been there!) and the addition of my investment, I became one step closer to achieving my overall goal.
Goal: new legal job
Like anything in life, it’s important to have a goal, but it’s even more important to have a plan to achieve that goal.
The steps to take to get the ball rolling are usually: editing your CV, searching for positions, submitting applications and writing cover letters. It requires, time, effort and dedication. It’s an extremely time-consuming process, which can be very hard to manage if you’re in full-time work.
Strategy: instruct a decent legal recruiter
So, why not sign up to your very own ‘recruitment gym’? A good legal recruiter has the right tools and equipment in place, the clientele, and if you instruct them to do so, they can submit applications on your behalf. They can also help edit your CV, brief you on jobs and much more.
At the very least, investing in a personal trainer gives you a kick start to achieve your overall goal, whether it’s for weight loss, to tone up or to keep fit in general. People go to a personal trainer because they’re specialists in their field: they’ve trained people previously and they have a track record for getting results. Legal recruiters are like your very own personal trainer; they provide advice and market knowledge, put a plan in place to help achieve your overall goal - they do everything they can to find the right role for you. However, the personal trainer doesn’t work alone. The client has to put in the work and effort and communicate what they want to achieve – this allows the personal trainer to come up with a tailored plan.
Like your fitness goals, a consultant can give you a kick start to secure your ideal position, providing interview preparation, editing CVs, speaking to clients on your behalf, and overall, ensuring you’ve taken the right measures to land an interview.
