Why is it important to keep in contact with your recruiter?

When approaching the job search you can choose to do it in many ways. You might know someone who can recommend you or go through a recruiter, the choice is yours.

As a recruiter it’s easy for me to see the benefits of what we do but I do genuinely believe if you are short of time or want to use a specialist in your field then let us do the hard work for you after all, all you need to do is turn up then the decision yours. If you do decide to go down the recruiter route I would really think about what we need from you, we need information about what it is that you are looking for, why you want to move and all factors that go in to finding someone the right role. This contact is so important because things change daily you might have had a counter offer, your personal circumstances might have changed and if we don’t know we can’t help. I would ask yourself are you prepared to keep us in the know. Don’t get me wrong we understand that most of the market are already employed so we won’t call you at work, but you if you could inform us when you can speak then it would really help and allow us to call you when you at a convenient time.

I can not stress enough how important it is to keep in contact, it’s key, the Information we have the better as it helps us know exactly what you re looking for and matching your needs to the right firm.
