Help to buy supports 73,000 home sales
As a recruitment consultant that specialises in residential property it is great to see that the Help to Buy scheme is helping so many people get on the property ladder. Chantel Gallagher, Consultant with BCL Legal in Birmingham offers her opinion on the help to buy scheme and the current residential property market.
There have been a few articles that I have read recently that suggest the market is slowing down. I personally think that it may have slowed for people that are already home owners or the fact that there is always a seasonal dip with buying/selling homes. It is a temporary blip in what is a booming market thanks to all the stamp duty changes and the help to buy scheme that was introduced last year. More and more first time buyers are finally able to afford their first rung on the property ladder.
According to this article on insider media, Help to Buy Supports 73,000 Home Sales with the number of first time buyers being at its highest since 2007. Some of the main cities to benefit from the scheme are Birmingham, Peterborough and Bedford.
As a consultant who works in a team of three specialising solely in residential property recruitment throughout the Midlands and South, I would say that the figures shown are reflected in the number of new instructions that we are receiving daily and in the locations mentioned above. The next 6 months are going to get increasingly busy in the property market so if you are a residential conveyancer looking for career progression, please check out the latest vacancies on the BCL Legal website.
If you are looking to secure a new job and would like a confidential discussion contact BCL Legal.
