BTSS Election Night

BCL Legal recently sponsored the Election night for the new BTSS committee. For the uninitiated, the BTSS is the Birmingham Trainee Solicitor’s Society. This a group aimed at trainee and NQ solicitors in the Birmingham and West Midlands area. They arrange a number of social occasions each year including an annual ball, seminars and sports events. The events present a unique opportunity for NQ and trainee solicitors to network not only with members of other firms but also a variety of businesses that sponsor events.

The committee plays an integral part in the BTSS, playing the primary role in organising all the events. As such the trainee and NQ solicitors they take roles in the committee certain gain an opportunity to not only develop their networking skills but also their commercial acumen.

BCL Legal have proudly sponsored the BTSS for a number of years. We enjoy the opportunity to engage with NQ and trainee solicitors, particular in relation to the seminars – where we hopefully pass on useful advice.
I would encourage all junior solicitors in the Midlands area to consider getting involved in the BTSS, certainly those that are part of it value the networking opportunities it brings very highly. I know one member (who trained in Birmingham) who still travels up from Cambridgeshire for nearly every event.

Thank you to the 2012/2013 committee it has been a pleasure to work with you. We are looking forward to working with the 2013/2014 committee over the next twelve months.
