Birmingham is booming!
Positive news for the Midlands region as Birmingham has been recognised as the best place in the UK for businesses to invest, according to a US investment specialist.
In my role, assisting businesses with the recruitment of lawyers in the Midlands, I have observed a large rise in recruitment activity across the Midlands over the last 12 months and recruitment activity has risen by 44% in 2014 compared to 2013. One significant trend is that there has been an increase in businesses expanding their legal teams, partly to facilitate growth within a business or increased legal and regulatory requirements. Noticable examples are organisations such as Wolseley, Alliance Boots, Molson Coors, SSP and Norbert Dentressangle who have been looking to add to their already established legal teams.
