Am I being paid enough?
If you’re anything like me then apart from the August bank holiday and the 2-3 days (or should I say hours!) of summer we experience, one of the best days of August is transfer deadline day. Whether it’s the big clubs paying an extortionate amount for an 18 year old wonder kid (who’s probably played a handful of games) or it’s the mighty Preston North End making a splash (more like a ripple) it’s a good day for football fans across the country. I can almost guarantee you will see Harry Redknapp in his car speaking to the sky sports cameras about how he wants to make a few more additions before the window closes.
Whatever happens on deadline day there will be a huge amount of money thrown around with the worth of players and wages having increased 10 fold over the last few seasons. Let’s take Ousmane Dembele for example, Borussia Dortmund paid £13 million for him in 2016, one year later he moves to Barcelona for a reported fee of £135 million (and I Imagine he got a handsome pay rise). Another example would be Neymar’s recent move which has seen his weekly wage increase to a reported £515,000.
Now you may be thinking what this has got to do with recruitment or conveyancing for that matter. What I can tell you is that we would all like to be earning more money and some of us even feel that we deserve a better salary. So my question to you is what are you going to do about it? You could click here and compare your annual salary to that of the worlds leading professional footballers which is both interesting and depressing. Or now could be the perfect time to consider your options and look for an opportunity that can match your ambitions along with the financial incentives that make it worth getting up in a morning.
As the consultant for residential conveyancing in the Home Counties I am currently working on a number of opportunities that could well tempt you to make that switch. So what are you waiting for? There is no transfer deadline day in your life but opportunities come and go and your dream job may be ready and waiting. Call me and let’s discuss your next move.
