Administration Support – The Backbone Of Any Successful Office

BCL Legal Birmingham moved offices today, very successfully I hasten to add with very few if any glitches at all. There are 7 of us in total but as anyone will testify that has recently moved office or house, you’re always amazed at how much there is to do and how much rubbish we manage to hoard! Our move around the corner from Temple Row to Bennetts Hill wouldn’t have been possible without our office manager Maggie!

Its easy to underestimate the positive influence a good team administrator can have. The number of things that get done without you knowing is amazing (cleaners, IT, telephones, furniture, kitchen utensils, office plan etc), being able to delegate to somebody who is committed to supporting the team or office makes life so much easier and allows you to carry on with your day job and the team performance goes unaffected.

I have also worked in an office where the administrator is a drain and can sap any positivity with ease on a daily basis. These people need to be identified and their behaviour corrected because if its not, they will prevent success and will be a hindrance rather than a positive aid.

Our move today has gone swimmingly thanks to Maggie. We were all up and running with phones and IT within minutes of our arrival and we’ve been able to have a largely unaffected day. As I sit at my desk now typing away, my team are busy at their desks recruiting for their clients and Maggie is still taking care of all things that we take for granted and need on a daily basis (like kitchen roll!).
