A strong kick off to 2015 for Private Practice Paralegal recruitment..

On entering 2015 there has been an extremely high demand for experienced paralegals from our London clients, especially in US firms. Areas of particularly notable demand are Corporate, Real Estate and Insurance paralegals.

The most interesting thing about these requirements is that firms are asking for experienced paralegals who are able to take on the work usually given to fee earners and junior associates. Many complain that they are becoming too “top heavy” and require a number of experienced and high calibre paralegals to address the unbalanced workload.

This is very much good news for experienced and in particular “Career paralegals” who are usually interested in roles with greater responsibility and challenge than most traditional Paralegal positions. These highly experienced and specialised Paralegals continue to grow in both value and rarity, and are seemingly every firm’s ideal solution to the lack of supportive hands on deck.

With a reported rise in the admission of trainees in many top 100 London firms, the demand for paralegals is usually something which we would expect to fall, however it seems currently that there is sufficient demand to be shared.
