In House Legal Advisor

THE COMPANY Our client is a global, high tech, manufacturing business, with over 50,000 employees worldwide and a turnover in the £billions. They operate in a hugely interesting sector and have strong values across the organisation. The UK division of this business is headquartered in Yorkshire, and has a well-established legal function, which they are now looking to grow further. THE ROLE Joining a 4 strong team, you'll report into the Senior Legal Counsel, and undertake a broad role covering legal, commercial, contractual and compliance matters. These might be vendor and customer contracts for various products and services, supporting on high value complex commercial projects, maintain and develop standard contracts database, supporting the business on compliance projects, managing occasional dispute resolution matters and provide training and support to the UK business. ABOUT YOU The workload is incredibly diverse, so you'll need to be the sort of character who is interested in having a variety of work, and being adaptable to whatever crosses the desk. Practical experience is key, so whilst you may be a qualified solicitor, we'd also be very interested to talk to individuals who might have got their legal training through a different route, and may not be formally qualified. You'll need strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and other legal documents, and ideally experience of compliance matters. You'll also need great softer communications skills as you'll be dealing with people throughout the company, from Director level to the sales teams.
