In House Legal Counsel

A major listed plc with a diverse and interesting portfolio of businesses within the group, and a significant turnover, is seeking to compliment their in house legal department The Role This in house legal counsel role will be fast paced, at a business which has grown rapidly in recent years. The in house team is well established and high calibre, and offers a supportive environment in which to work. You'll be given the opportunity to work across a broad array of in house commercial and corporate legal matters. It is the classic non contentious in house legal counsel role, with the remit covering a variety of complex and interesting commercial contracts work role, IP issues, support on corporate matters, data protection and 'whatever crosses the desk'. It is a great opportunity for a lawyer looking to make their first move in house. About You The ideal hire would be a lawyer from around 1-3 years' pqe in a 'business law' environment (that might be from a from a corporate, commercial, projects, property, litigation or regulatory background). You'll need excellent communication skills, a positive 'can do' attitude, and adaptability. You'll also be a genuine 'team player', and to be comfortable in a fast moving and dynamic business. You will probably be working at a recognised commercial law firm or in house legal department, and want to move to an organisation which strongly recognises the need for continuing professional development. Ideally you will have gained some experience of working in house (possibly through a secondment), but most important is having the right aptitude to fit into the in house environment.
