Planning Solicitor - NQ

BCL Legal are working with a top-tier Legal 500-rated regional law firm, based in Essex, that is seeking an ambitious and driven Newly Qualified (NQ) Planning Solicitor to join their well-established team. The Role: As an NQ Planning Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly regarded team, gaining exposure to a broad range of planning matters. You will provide expert legal advice on planning law, working with developers, local authorities, and other key stakeholders. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your planning law expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment, within a firm recognised for its excellence in the Legal 500. Key Responsibilities: - Advising clients on planning applications, appeals, and enforcement matters. - Drafting and reviewing planning-related documents, including planning agreements and appeals. - Assisting clients with applications for planning permissions and permits. - Representing clients in planning hearings, inquiries, and consultations. - Conducting legal research on planning law and its implications for clients. - Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, including developers, local authorities, and private clients. - Supporting senior team members on high-profile and complex planning cases. - Keeping up to date with developments in planning legislation and case law. - Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives for the planning team. Experience Required: - Newly qualified Solicitor (or soon to qualify) with a strong interest in planning law. - Previous experience in planning law through training or relevant seat would be beneficial. - Understanding of contentious and non-contentious planning matters. - Knowledge of planning policies and local government law is desirable. Key Skills: - Excellent communication and client-facing skills. - Strong analytical and drafting abilities. - High attention to detail and the ability to manage complex legal issues. - Ability to handle a varied caseload and work to deadlines. - Passion for planning law and a commitment to developing your expertise.
