HEAD OF HR - LEADING LAW FIRM - DURHAM Are you ready to take the helm of a dynamic HR team within a prestigious North East law firm? Celebrating 25 years of excellence, this Durham-based firm is renowned for its first-class client care and innovative legal solutions. With a client base that includes prominent business names, the firm is a multi-disciplinary, 12-partner practice that places its people at the heart of everything it does. As the Head of HR, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the firm by recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent. This strategic and operational position involves embedding the firm's Core Values-Trust, Care, Collaboration, Agility-into every interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Management Team, you will oversee all aspects of HR, advising Partners on policies, procedures, and best practices. Your initiatives will drive employee engagement, performance, and wellbeing, making the firm a great place to work. Key responsibilities include: - Developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with the business plan - Managing the recruitment and selection process - Supporting business needs through team development, engagement, motivation, and retention - Monitoring a performance appraisal system that rewards excellence - Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and innovation - Ensuring compliance with employment law and best practices - Managing employee relations issues and providing guidance on HR matters - Overseeing the HR budget and reporting on key metrics - Leading HR projects and initiatives, such as employee surveys and wellness campaigns Essential skills and experience: - CIPD qualified - Extensive knowledge of employment policies and practices - Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff - Strategic thinking and analytical skills - Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills - Strong oral and written communication abilities - Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment For more information on this Head of HR role in Durham, please contact Rozie Hunter at BCL Legal.
