Head of Private Client Company Overview: Our client is a well-established, boutique law firm based in the heart of Coventry, known for its commitment to high-quality legal service and long-standing relationships with clients in the region. As part of their continued growth and succession planning, they are seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Private Client to lead their private client department and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm. Role Overview: This is a senior leadership position within the firm, suited to a confident Private Client solicitor or legal executive with a proven track record in managing a full caseload and team leadership. You will oversee all matters relating to wills, probate, estate planning, powers of attorney, and trusts, while mentoring junior staff and playing a key role in business development. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and lead the Private Client department. - Handle a varied caseload including: - Drafting and advising on wills - Estate administration and probate - Lasting Powers of Attorney - Trusts and tax planning - Supervise junior solicitors, legal executives, and support staff. - Drive department growth through business development and marketing initiatives. - Maintain and develop strong client relationships. - Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and internal policies. - Report to the firm's partners and contribute to strategic planning. Requirements: - Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive - 6+ years PQE. - Strong experience in all areas of private client law. - Previous team leadership or management experience. - Excellent communication, organisational, and client-care skills. - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Commercial awareness and confidence in business development.
