An established and reputable full-service law firm based in Staffordshire is seeking a skilled Commercial Property Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their expanding team. Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced solicitor to manage a varied caseload of commercial property transactions, focusing on disposals, acquisitions, landlord and tenant matters, and small-scale development projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded solicitor to take the next step in their career within a dynamic team, where you will work on behalf of a diverse range of clients, from SMEs to larger commercial enterprises.
Key Responsibilities:
Handling a broad range of commercial property matters, including:
Sales and acquisitions of freehold and leasehold commercial properties.
Landlord and tenant matters, including lease negotiations, renewals, assignments, and terminations.
Advising on small-scale property development projects, including planning and development agreements.
Assisting clients with commercial property disposals and related transactional work.
Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, contracts, and other property-related documents.
Conducting due diligence on commercial property transactions, including reviewing title deeds, searches, and planning permissions.
Managing files independently while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Offering strategic, commercially focused advice to clients throughout the transaction process.
Collaborating with other departments, particularly the corporate and litigation teams, on joint matters such as corporate acquisitions or disputes involving commercial property.
Key Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years PQE in commercial property law.
Proven experience in disposals and acquisitions of commercial property.
Demonstrable knowledge of landlord and tenant law, including lease agreements and renewals.
Experience in advising on small-scale development projects.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
The ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision, delivering high standards of service to clients.
Commercially aware with the ability to offer practical and solutions-focused advice.
Strong attention to detail and an ability to handle a busy and varied caseload.
Desirable Skills:
A proactive approach to business development and client relationship management.
Confidence in networking and engaging with local businesses and potential clients.
Knowledge of the local commercial property market in Staffordshire.
