Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Employment Solicitor to join their thriving employment law team.
Role Overview
- As an Employment Solicitor, you will be handling a broad mix of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. The role will involve acting on behalf of both respondents (employers) and claimants (employees), providing high-quality legal advice and representation across a variety of employment law issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling a caseload of employment matters, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, breach of contract, and whistleblowing.
- Advising clients on both contentious and non-contentious employment issues, including day-to-day HR matters, drafting contracts, policies, and procedures, and advising on workplace disputes.
- Representing clients at Employment Tribunals in contentious matters such as unfair dismissal, discrimination claims, and other employee disputes.
- Providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice to employer clients on workplace procedures, grievance handling, and employment law compliance.
- Acting for claimants in disputes with employers, ensuring sensitive and thorough handling of personal employment issues.
- Drafting settlement agreements, employment contracts, staff handbooks, and other related documentation.
- Engaging in business development activities, including networking and building strong client relationships.
Skills & Experience Required
- 1-3 years PQE as an Employment Solicitor with a solid foundation in both contentious and non-contentious employment law.
- Experience advising both respondent (employer) and claimant (employee) clients.
- Proven ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
- Experience representing clients in Employment Tribunal cases.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise, and commercially focused advice.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build strong client relationships and work effectively within a team.
Desirable Qualities
- A proactive approach to business development and client relationship management.
- Confident in delivering presentations and training to clients on employment law topics.
- Knowledge of working with clients in a variety of sectors, including SMEs, public sector organisations, and individual employees.
