Employment Solicitor About the Firm Our client is a well-established, full-service law firm based in Staffordshire, known for providing high-quality legal services across a diverse range of practice areas. With a strong client-focused approach and a collaborative working environment, the firm has built a solid reputation for delivering both commercial and personal legal solutions. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a talented and motivated Employment Solicitor to join their successful Employment Law team. Role Overview As an Employment Solicitor, you will manage a diverse range of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. The role involves providing expert legal advice and representation to both employer (respondent) and employee (claimant) clients across various employment law issues. Key Responsibilities * Managing a varied caseload of employment matters, including: * Unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, breach of contract, and whistleblowing. * Offering advice on both contentious and non-contentious issues, such as day-to-day HR matters, drafting employment contracts, policies, procedures, and resolving workplace disputes. * Representing clients at Employment Tribunals in matters like unfair dismissal, discrimination claims, and other employment-related disputes. * Providing clear, practical, and commercially focused advice to employer clients on workplace procedures, grievance handling, and compliance with employment laws. * Supporting claimants through employment disputes with employers, ensuring sensitive handling of personal employment matters. * Drafting settlement agreements, employment contracts, staff handbooks, and other employment-related documentation. * Participating in business development, networking, and building strong client relationships. Skills & Experience Required * PQE: 1-3 years as an Employment Solicitor, with a solid understanding of both contentious and non-contentious employment law. * Experience advising both employer (respondent) and employee (claimant) clients. * Ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision. * Experience representing clients in Employment Tribunal cases. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise, and commercially focused advice. * Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate effectively within a team. * Desirable Qualities * A proactive approach to business development and client relationship management. * Confidence in delivering presentations and training sessions on employment law topics to clients. * Experience working with clients from various sectors, including SMEs, public sector organisations, and individual employees.
