Role Overview:
As an Associate specialising in Competition, you will be at the forefront of advising clients on a broad spectrum of antitrust matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising on merger control work, market and targeted investigations, behavioural advice, compliance training, and associated support.
- Conducting National Security and Investment Act analyses and notifications.
- Providing counsel on subsidy control and related policy.
- Delivering insightful commercial and regulatory advice tailored to your existing experience, with ample scope for further development.
- Building and nurturing client relationships through targeted marketing, business development, and client care initiatives.
Skills and Experience Required:
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Registered Foreign Lawyer or equivalent) with approximately 1-6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). However, applications from candidates exceeding this PQE bracket are also welcome. Essential experience includes:
- A solid background in at least two areas of the antitrust spectrum, such as merger control, competition investigations, compliance programmes, behavioural advice, and National Security and Investment Act analyses.
- Proven expertise in at least one of these areas.
- Ideally, experience in competition litigation and subsidy control.
- Broader commercial and/or regulatory experience, including consumer protection investigations, or a willingness to multi-skill.
- Experience working with clients in sectors such as retail and consumer goods, financial services, digital, future energy, leisure, real estate, and government.
