Litigation, Regulatory & Public Law Solicitor | 3-5 years' PQE | Leeds with flexible working
An award-winning national firm is looking to welcome a Solicitor to their market-leading Litigation, Regulatory and Public law team, based in Leeds with flexible working. This is an ideal role for a solicitor of around 3 years' PQE upwards, seeking to develop their experience in a broad practice with a range of public and private sector clients.

The national Litigation, Regulatory and Public Law team is a market-leader in the health, social care and local government sectors and has a fast-growing profile and client base in financial services, commercial, and higher education sectors. As a part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work for a range of public and private sector clients across all of their sectors, with a focus on the regulatory and public law that they do.
This role will involve:
· Advising regulatory bodies, across sectors such as financial services, professional discipline and other sector and economic regulators, on the use of their regulatory powers, including managing appeals and public law challenges.
· Advising ombuds schemes on decision-making and handling complaints and challenges.
· Advising public services providers, commissioners and regulators on their decision-making, including the risk of judicial review.
· Handling judicial review claims in the High Court and appellate courts.
· Supporting clients in responding to regulatory interventions
· Supporting clients engaging with public inquiries, including advice on disclosure obligations and responding to r9 requests/s21 notices.
The nature of the work means that the team regularly deal with political or socio-economic issues that arise within their core sectors, which often makes the work truly significant and rewarding. This is a broad and interesting role which provides the opportunity to determine which area interests you most and plenty of scope to specialise further down the line.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
· Qualified Solicitor, ideally 3-5 years' PQE.
· Ideally experience across the team's core sectors or at least some of them.
· Experience of acting for or at least an interest in public bodies is essential.
· Confident communicator and the ability to maintain relationships with clients.
· Willing to take part in business development and marketing initiatives.
· A collaborative approach to working with colleagues nationally.
