Contentious Construction Managing Associate | 8+ PQE | £80k upwards | Leeds
A leading national firm is looking for a Managing Associate to join their high-performing Contentious Construction team, based in their Leeds office. This will be a key hire and will play a key part in driving further success in the team and there are real prospects of progression to Partner in the future.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a UK-Top 50 firm which has successfully grown into one of the largest full-service firms in the country. After years of successful growth, both in terms of size and revenue, there are ambitious plans for growth. This is a really exciting time to join and play a key part in their ambitious plans.
As a Managing Associate in this team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues cross-office on a broad range of high value disputes, which are often complex and high-profile. The team act for public and private sector employers, contractors, funds, consultants and sub-contractors, comprising some of the best-known names in the construction & engineering industry. You will also oversee juniors within the team where necessary, including associates, trainees and paralegals.
The team is experienced in all aspects of the built environment and process plant, from infrastructure to commercial and residential buildings, offices, retail, logistics and production facilities. You will manage your own caseload, as well as leading on complex matters with the national team.
ABOUT YOU
· Qualified Solicitor with around 8 years' PQE.
· Experience gained within an established construction disputes practice, however candidates with a mix of both contentious and non-contentious experience will also be considered.
· Ability to handle a broad range of complex construction disputes autonomously or with limited supervision.
· Ideally experience of supervising junior team members, or at least the desire to do so.
· A strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of the construction & engineering industry.
· Enthusiastic and keen to take part in business development.

· Competitive salary from around £80k upwards depending on experience.
