REAL ESTATE ASSOCIATE | UK TOP 40 LAW FIRM | LONDON
A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate to join its market leading real estate team in London.
This role will focus on residential development matters and presents an excellent opportunity to work with leading developers, including FTSE-listed companies, on high-profile residential and mixed-use development projects across the UK.
As part of a dynamic, specialist team, you will play a key role in advising national and regional housebuilders on the acquisition of both immediate and strategic land for development. You will work closely with clients to help shape and deliver much-needed housing and infrastructure, supporting the Government's ambitious housing targets.
THE ROLE
This role offers a mix of high-quality legal work, client interaction, and career progression. As an Associate, you will:
- Advise national housebuilders and developers on complex land acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic land transactions.
- Work closely with clients on all stages of residential development - from site acquisition and planning through to disposal.
- Provide commercially focused legal advice on development agreements, option agreements, overage, and collaboration agreements.
- Collaborate with colleagues in planning, construction, and finance teams to offer a fully integrated service.
- Engage in business development activities, strengthening existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Support senior lawyers and partners while also having the autonomy to manage your own matters.
THE CANDIDATE
- Has at least 2 years of post-qualification experience (2+ PQE) in real estate law.
- Ideally has experience working with developers, particularly housebuilders, on site acquisitions and residential developments.
- Possesses excellent technical skills, a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to manage complex transactions.
- Has a keen eye for detail and can produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Enjoys client engagement and relationship management, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and is keen to take on responsibility.
