An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Projects Lawyer to join a leading international law firm in the heart of the City of London. This dynamic and highly regarded team is known for its expertise across infrastructure, energy, transport, real estate, waste, water, education, and health sectors. The firm is particularly well-regarded for its ability to advise on complex, high-value projects that shape the built environment in the UK and globally.
THE ROLE
The firm has an unrivalled reputation, acting for employers, developers, sponsors, funders, project companies, contractors, consultants, and insurers. With an impressive client base that includes over half of the UK's top 50 contractors and a significant number of major international clients, this role offers exposure to some of the most high-profile and complex projects in the market.
You will join a collaborative and supportive environment, working closely with industry-leading legal professionals. The firm's pipeline of work is particularly strong in real estate development and real estate finance-related transactional construction and projects work. This role will involve advising on contract negotiation, risk management, and project delivery.
This position is best suited for a Projects Lawyer with 2-5 years PQE and a strong academic background. The successful candidate will have experience in construction and projects work, particularly within real estate development and real estate finance-related transactions. Flexibility and interest in both construction and broader project work will be a distinct advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high-quality legal advice on all aspects of construction and project-related matters, including procurement strategies, contract negotiation, and dispute management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with an existing client base while actively participating in business development.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the firm's international network to provide seamless cross-border legal solutions.
- Build strong partnerships with Real Estate and Finance teams to deliver integrated client service.
- Actively contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including writing articles, delivering presentations, and participating in industry events.
- Manage and mentor junior team members where appropriate, supporting their career development.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified solicitor with 2-5 years PQE from a leading commercial firm or in-house legal team.
- Strong background in construction and projects work, with experience in real estate development and finance-related transactions.
- Excellent commercial judgment and technical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships in a collaborative environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and client-facing skills, with a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
