Construction Litigation Associate - London
An excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious Construction Litigation Associate to join our highly regarded Construction Litigation team at a leading national practice in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes for a diverse client base, including local authorities, NHS Trusts, housing associations, developers, funders, and contractors.
As part of a firm recognised for its expertise across key sectors-including construction, housing, local government, health and social care, energy, and financial services-you will be exposed to a broad range of contentious construction matters while developing your career within a highly supportive and collaborative team.
You will be advising clients on a variety of construction disputes, including:
- Final account and loss & expense claims
- Defect disputes (including fire safety and cladding issues)
- PFI and project-related disputes (experience in this area is desirable but not essential)
- Professional negligence claims relating to construction professionals
- Disputes concerning contract termination, delay, and extensions of time
- Adjudications, arbitrations, and litigation in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC)
This role will involve handling cases independently while working closely with partners and senior colleagues on high-profile and complex disputes. You will also have the opportunity to advise clients on dispute avoidance and risk management strategies, helping them mitigate potential issues before they escalate.
With a strong portfolio of panel appointments, you will work on significant cases for public and private sector clients, including major infrastructure projects, housing developments, and commercial construction projects.
Candidate requirements:
- 2+ years' PQE with a solid background in contentious construction matters
- Experience handling disputes through litigation, adjudication, arbitration, and mediation
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex legal and technical issues
- Ability to manage cases independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills, with a commercial and strategic mindset
- A desire to be involved in business development and client engagement initiatives
