Key responsibilities include:
- Handling complex litigation, arbitration, and adjudication proceedings in the UK and internationally.
- Drafting correspondence, advice notes, pleadings, and submissions for court, arbitration, and adjudication.
- Working closely with clients' technical and commercial teams to develop dispute resolution strategies.
- Liaising with expert witnesses, barristers, and consultants to prepare and present cases effectively.
- Advising on risk management and dispute avoidance strategies to help clients navigate challenges before they escalate into formal disputes.
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the ongoing growth and profile of the team.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be a technically strong, commercially astute lawyer with a passion for construction litigation. Candidates should have:
- 3-5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in construction litigation gained at a leading firm.
- A strong academic background and excellent analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills.
- Experience handling disputes under JCT, NEC, and FIDIC contracts, as well as familiarity with key dispute resolution mechanisms such as TCC litigation, adjudication, arbitration, and mediation.
- A proactive and commercially minded approach, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
- A genuine interest in business development and a desire to contribute to the team's growth and success.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This role offers:
- Exposure to market-leading, high-value disputes involving blue-chip clients and major infrastructure projects.
- A highly supportive and collaborative team environment, with access to top-tier training and career development opportunities.
- The chance to work on both domestic and international matters, including arbitration under key institutional rules (ICC, LCIA).
- A competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with the firm's reputation as a leader in the field.
