CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATE (NON-CONTENTIOUS) | 2-4 PQE | LONDON A leading London law firm is seeking a Non-Contentious Construction Associate to join its highly regarded practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented lawyer to work on a diverse range of complex and high-value development projects, gaining exposure to market-leading clients and landmark schemes. THE ROLE As a Non-Contentious Construction Associate, you will provide expert legal advice and support throughout the lifecycle of major construction projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Pre-Construction Services: Advising on letters of intent, pre-construction services agreements, and other contractual arrangements to ensure smooth project commencement. - Procurement Strategy: Offering strategic advice on the most suitable procurement methods for a variety of developments, tailored to the needs of developers, contractors, and other stakeholders. - Construction Documentation: Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of construction contracts, including JCT, FIDIC, NEC, and MF/1 forms of contract. - Appointments for consultants and design professionals. - Collateral warranties, third-party rights, parent company guarantees, and performance bonds. - Bespoke development agreements and related documentation. - Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with clients, contractors, and professional teams to anticipate and address the requirements of lenders, investors, and other third parties. - Risk Management: Proactively identifying potential risks and providing practical legal solutions to mitigate challenges. SECTORS & PROJECTS You will work on a wide variety of high-profile development schemes including: - Commercial, Retail, and Mixed-Use Developments - Town Centre and Out-of-Town Regeneration Projects - Hotels, Later Living, Student Accommodation, and Build-to-Rent (BTR) - Logistics and Industrial Developments - Film Studios and Media Infrastructure - Private Residences and Luxury Developments THE CANDIDATE To succeed in this role, you should have: - 2-4 years' PQE in non-contentious construction law, gained at a reputable law firm. - Strong experience in drafting and negotiating construction contracts, professional appointments, and associated documents. - Excellent knowledge of JCT, FIDIC, NEC, and other standard form contracts. - Strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice. - Excellent client management and communication skills. - A collaborative and proactive approach, with a desire to contribute to the growth of the practice.
