Associate - Non-Contentious Construction A growing and highly regarded construction team in the City is looking for a talented non-contentious construction lawyer to join its expanding practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex and high-value projects across a range of sectors, including real estate, logistics, healthcare, biotech, and data centres. The team provides specialist advice at every stage of the construction lifecycle, from planning and procurement to project execution and completion. As an Associate, you will: - Advise a broad client base, including developers, investors, corporate occupiers, contractors, lenders, and high-net-worth individuals. - Draft and negotiate standard-form and bespoke construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, and FIDIC agreements. - Support clients on procurement strategies, risk management, and project structuring. - Work alongside real estate, finance, and corporate teams to provide construction input on transactions. - Take responsibility for your own matters, with appropriate levels of supervision, while playing an active role in client engagement and relationship management. - Contribute to business development and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team. To be successful in this role, you will have: - 1-3 years' PQE in non-contentious construction law, gained in private practice or in-house. - Experience advising on development projects and drafting key construction documents. - A commercial approach with the ability to provide pragmatic and solutions-driven advice. - Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities. - A collaborative and proactive attitude, with a willingness to develop within a supportive team environment.
