Senior Associate - Non-Contentious Construction A leading City firm is looking for an experienced non-contentious construction lawyer to join its growing team as a Senior Associate. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-value and complex projects across multiple sectors, including real estate, logistics, biotech, healthcare, and data centres. The team provides expert legal advice at every stage of the construction lifecycle, from project inception and procurement strategies to contract negotiation and project completion. Clients include institutional investors, developers, corporate occupiers, funders, and contractors. This role offers a high level of responsibility and client engagement. Key responsibilities include: - Advising on a broad range of construction matters, including drafting and negotiating standard-form and bespoke construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and other industry agreements). - Providing strategic legal advice to developers, funders, contractors, and corporate occupiers on construction and infrastructure projects. - Working closely with colleagues in real estate, finance, and corporate teams to provide construction input on transactions. - Leading on matters with direct client contact, ensuring proactive support and commercial solutions. - Supervising and mentoring junior team members, providing guidance on technical legal issues and career development. - Assisting in business development initiatives, including attending industry events, contributing to thought leadership, and building client relationships. To succeed in this role, you will have: - 4-8 years' PQE in non-contentious construction law, gained in private practice or in-house. - Strong experience advising on development projects, with knowledge of key construction contracts and procurement routes. - A commercial mindset, with the ability to deliver pragmatic and solutions-focused legal advice. - Strong technical and drafting skills, with a keen attention to detail. - Excellent client relationship and business development abilities. - A proactive and collaborative approach, with experience supervising junior team members being advantageous.
