- Draft and negotiate a wide array of construction contracts, with a particular focus on JCT, NEC, and FIDIC standard form agreements, along with bespoke agreements tailored to client requirements.
- Provide strategic guidance on large-scale projects, such as regeneration schemes, accommodation sector developments, and renewables projects.
- Collaborate with clients, including developers, contractors, funders, property investors, and specialist consultants, to help them achieve successful outcomes.
- Play a pivotal role in supporting complex agreements and large-scale due diligence exercises, ensuring the delivery of accurate, commercially astute advice with appropriate supervision and support.
- Work closely with other legal teams, including those specialising in technology, private wealth, and other practice areas, to provide integrated advice on multi-disciplinary projects.
Candidate requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years' PQE in non-contentious construction law, ideally gained in a reputable law firm.
- Extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of standard form contracts, such as JCT, NEC, and FIDIC, as well as bespoke agreements and development arrangements.
- A solid understanding of market commercial expectations, compromise positions, and the typical issues faced in construction projects.
- Experience advising on projects within the real estate, housing, accommodation, healthcare, energy, renewables, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable. Investor and housing accommodation experience would be particularly beneficial.
- A proactive, client-focused approach, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- The ability to manage complex legal issues with attention to detail, while also providing clear, strategic guidance to clients.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys working with colleagues across various practice areas to deliver integrated legal solutions.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading law firm known for its excellence in the construction and development sectors. The firm offers a supportive, dynamic environment where the successful candidate can build their career and make a significant impact on some of the most exciting construction projects in the UK and internationally.
