A prestigious international law firm is seeking a skilled and ambitious Construction Associate to join their market-leading team. in the City of London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, non-contentious construction matters for high-profile UK and international clients across a variety of sectors, including real estate, infrastructure, energy, and finance.
As a Construction Associate, you will manage a diverse and high-value caseload of non-contentious construction work. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and Negotiating Construction Contracts: Advising on industry-standard forms such as JCT, NEC, and FIDIC, as well as drafting bespoke agreements tailored to specific projects.
- Development and Infrastructure Projects: Supporting clients on significant commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, as well as large-scale infrastructure projects such as energy, transport, and public utilities.
- Project Delivery and Risk Management: Advising on procurement strategies, contract administration, and risk allocation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Transactional Support: Providing construction law expertise in real estate transactions, project finance, and joint ventures, ensuring comprehensive legal support for major developments.
- Cross-Border Collaboration: Working closely with the firm's global network to deliver seamless advice on multi-jurisdictional projects, leveraging international expertise.
- Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on their most critical projects.
About You:
- 2-5 years' PQE in non-contentious construction, ideally from a top-tier or highly regarded firm.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex construction agreements and providing strategic advice on procurement and project delivery.
- Commercial Mindset: Ability to deliver commercially focused solutions that align with clients' strategic goals.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex legal advice clearly and concisely.
- Team Player: A collaborative approach, comfortable working in multidisciplinary and international teams.
