Planning Solicitor An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Solicitor to join a highly regarded London-based law firm. This role is ideal for a newly qualified solicitor or someone with up to 5 years' post-qualification experience, offering exposure to a wide range of high-quality planning work for an impressive and diverse client base. The team works with a wide-ranging client base, including energy companies, strategic landowners, property developers, land promoters, charities, retailers, and individuals. Each client presents unique challenges, offering the successful candidate exposure to diverse and complex planning issues. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of planning matters, including: - Section 106 Agreements: Negotiating and drafting planning obligations. - Compulsory Purchase Advice: Providing guidance on compensation claims and settlement agreements. - Strategic Advice: Assisting clients with planning applications, appeals, and promotion agreements. - Contentious Planning: Handling judicial reviews, High Court challenges, and planning appeals. - Infrastructure and Development: Advising on highways agreements, Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) matters, and permitted development prior approval applications. - Planning Due Diligence: Supporting the real estate and corporate teams by reviewing the planning aspects of transactions. - Certificates of Lawfulness: Advising on CLEUD (Certificates of Lawful Existing Use or Development) and CLOPUD (Certificates of Lawful Proposed Use or Development) applications. Key Requirements: - NQ to 5 years' PQE with experience in planning law. - Strong technical skills and a commercial approach to problem-solving. - Experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious planning matters. - Excellent communication and client relationship skills. - A proactive, team-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage a varied and demanding caseload.
