Practice Development Lawyer - Private Client Advisory | Birmingham | National Firm | Hybrid Working Available
BCL Legal is pleased to be partnering with a leading UK law firm in the recruitment of a Practice Development Lawyer (PDL) to support its national Private Client Advisory team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior private client lawyer or existing PDL/PSL looking to take on a focused, knowledge-led role outside of traditional fee earning.
The Role
Working as part of the firm's Knowledge Management team, you'll support the Private Client Advisory practice by leading on the review, update, and publication of a consistent and technically accurate suite of precedents, templates, and guidance materials.
You'll focus on a wide range of private client work, including:
Wills and succession planning
Trust structures
Tax and estate planning
Cross-border and complex client scenarios
The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, knowledge lawyers, and fee earners across the national team to ensure that internal resources remain current, practical, and aligned with legal and client developments.
This role can be based remotely or from one of the firm's UK offices, with occasional travel required as part of a highly collaborative, project-based working model.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant experience in private client law
- Ideally already working as a PSL/PDL, or a senior private client practitioner seeking a non-fee earning route
- Strong drafting skills and experience creating or reviewing precedents and legal templates
- Technically excellent, with up-to-date knowledge of private client law
- A confident communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a national team
- Experience working on legal knowledge or legal tech projects is desirable
