The Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a talented Private Client Partner to join this expanding Birmingham office. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to take a leading role within a small but high-performing team, embedded in one of the few corporate law firms with a strong, established commitment to private client work.
You'll be joining a firm that provides the platform of a national commercial practice while maintaining the bespoke, high-quality service typically found in specialist boutiques. With the support of a forward-thinking partnership and a pipeline of loyal clients, this role offers significant scope for growth and influence.
The Work
You'll be advising a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and business owners on all aspects of estate and succession planning. Work will include:
· Complex estate administration, including IHT returns, estate accounts, and nil rate band trusts
· Drafting of tax-efficient wills and lifetime planning structures
· Creation, administration, and restructuring of trusts, with associated tax considerations
· Advising on powers of attorney, capacity issues, and Court of Protection applications
· Acting for business owners on succession planning and wealth preservation strategies
What we're looking for:
We're seeking a well-rounded, commercially astute private client partner, ideally already operating at, or ready to step into, partnership level.
You'll need to be confident, personable, and able to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and referrers alike. Marketing and business development will come naturally to you, and you'll be comfortable leading client meetings, seminars, and networking events.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
· A strong track record advising high-net-worth individuals on estate and tax planning matters
· Experience managing complex estate administration and trust matters
· Confidence in business development and growing a practice area
· A collegiate, team-oriented approach and ability to support junior lawyers
· Excellent legal knowledge and first-class communication skills
· Commercial acumen and a proactive mindset
