Practice Development Lawyer - 5+ years PQE | Leading UK Firm | Birmingham | Hybrid/Part-time
BCL Legal is delighted to be working on an excellent opportunity for a Practice Development Lawyer (5+ years PQE) to join a leading UK law firm in Birmingham. This highly regarded team is known for its expertise in both national and international finance, offering the successful candidate high-quality work with blue-chip clients across a broad range of sectors.
This vacancy is open on a part time basis.
The Role:
As a Practice Development Lawyer, you will be a key member of our Finance team, driving best practice, developing legal resources, and providing high-quality training to both internal and external stakeholders. The role is an exciting blend of technical legal work, client-facing initiatives, and strategic knowledge management.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining legal precedents, practice notes, and guidance materials, including automated documents.
Delivering tailored training programs and thought leadership to internal lawyers and clients.
Tracking and disseminating legal and market developments, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of industry trends.
Working closely with Partners and fee earners to support transactional queries and wider practice development initiatives.
Leading client engagements on technical legal issues, providing valuable insights, and developing long-term relationships.
Contributing to the firm's knowledge resources and leveraging technology to improve service delivery.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in finance law, ideally in real estate finance or social housing finance, though candidates with a general finance background are also encouraged to apply. Knowledge of LMA drafting is essential.
Key skills and experience include:
At least 5 years' PQE in finance law.
Previous experience in real estate finance, social housing finance, or general finance transactions.
Strong technical legal skills, with a strategic and commercial mindset.
Proven experience in training, knowledge sharing, and managing legal resources.
A client-focused approach, with the ability to build lasting relationships.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
