Associate/Senior Associate - Complex Commercial Disputes | Leading National Firm | Regional Offices | Hybrid BCL Legal is delighted to be working on an excellent opportunity for a commercial litigation Associate/Senior Associate to join a renowned national firm. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work from their Birmingham office and join a dynamic and growing team. The Role: As an Associate/Senior Associate in the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Division, you will be responsible for leading complex commercial disputes across a variety of sectors, with a particular focus on public sector clients, including healthcare, local government, emergency services, and social housing. You will work on high-profile matters in PFI/Projects/Infrastructure, procurement law disputes, construction disputes, IP disputes, and competition investigations. Key responsibilities include: Leading and managing complex commercial disputes from inception to resolution, including High Court litigation and alternative dispute resolution methods. Advising public sector clients in sectors such as healthcare, local government, emergency services, and social housing. Taking early responsibility for client management, including managing external counsel and experts. Developing relationships with clients and providing strategic advice on commercial disputes and sector-specific issues. Collaborating with senior colleagues to drive forward the growth of the practice and ensure high-quality service delivery. The Candidate: The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex commercial disputes, ideally within the public sector, although candidates with experience in private sector disputes will also be considered. Key skills and experience include: Specialization in complex commercial disputes, with experience in PFI/Projects/Infrastructure, procurement law, IP, and construction disputes. Excellent drafting skills and the ability to handle High Court litigation and ADR processes. Confident in managing clients, external counsel, and experts. Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team in a fast-paced environment. Positive, flexible attitude with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines. A client-focused approach with a desire to foster and grow relationships both internally and externally.
