BCL is pleased to be assisting a market-leading national law firm seeking a 1-7PQE Employment Associate/Senior Associate to join its growing team in Birmingham to focus on employment matters in the health and social care sectors. This opportunity is offered on a full or part-time (4 days a week), permanent basis with flexible working patterns accommodated. The Team
Their Employment, Pensions, and Immigration team is a market leader with a strong presence across multiple sectors. Year-on-year growth means they continue to support a broad range of clients, including national and multinational organisations, with a strong focus on employee relations, improving employment practices, and managing workforce issues. They advise on defending employment claims, mitigating risks, and supporting our clients in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
The Role
They are looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join their national employment practice. The primary focus of the role will involve working across key sectors such as commercial services, higher education, financial services, and housing, though there may also be opportunities to advise on matters related to health and social care, NHS frameworks, and local/central government. Their multi-disciplinary approach will provide you with the opportunity to work on a variety of employment law issues, including both contentious and non-contentious matters.
What They Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
· 1-7+ years' PQE in employment law, with experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters
· A strong interest in working within our key sectors, including health and social care, higher education, financial services, and housing
· Experience in advising on complex employment issues, including employee relations, TUPE, and tribunals
· Strong client management skills and an interest in business development
· The ability to supervise junior lawyers and contribute to the growth of the team
