In-house Litigation Solicitor

Company: Our client is a national business providing essential services to consumers and commercial customers. It is one of the leading companies in its sector with circa 10% market share and almost 20,000 staff. Role - In-house Litigation Solicitor: Working as a member of an established legal function, as In-house Litigation Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to work on a varied mix of B2C and B2B contentious legal matters. Specific duties of the In-house Litigation Solicitor will include: dispute resolution; small and fast track claims, often consumer in focus; general contentious and litigation matters; responding to customer complaints and threats of litigation; supporting on commercial debt recovery matters; supporting on defendant professional indemnity claims; liaising with external counsel and internal stakeholders; and handling other ad hoc disputes and litigation work as required. In addition, there will be scope to work on wider in-house general commercial matters, strategy and advice. About you: This role of In-house Litigation Solicitor is an ideal opportunity for a contentious lawyer to make the move in-house into industry. The Head of Department is open minded on your specific legal specialism and background however those with a Civil Litigation background, or similar, are particularly appealing. Applicants must be highly skilled at drafting letters, pleadings and reports, with the ability to communicate effectively across the business. You should also have robust levels of knowledge and the skills to ensure compliance with regulatory, legislative and procedural requirements as applicable. Whats on offer? The position attracts a salary commensurate with PQE and experience at up to £40k per annum with 25 days holiday plus public holidays.
