Real Estate Senior Associate - Asset Management - Managed Legal Services Team - Leading International Law Firm - Manchester (Hybrid Working)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate (7+ years PQE) with a strong background in asset management to join the Managed Legal Services (MLS) team at a leading international law firm in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in managing a major food and beverage client's extensive property portfolio while combining legal expertise with innovative service delivery all while achieving a positive work/life balance.
The Role:
As Senior Associate in this team, you will be the lead legal advisor for a large food and beverage client, ensuring compliance with asset management and sector-specific regulations. You will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, and overseeing leases, licences, variations, surrenders, and other related agreements. A key aspect of the role is proactively managing legal risks, particularly those unique to the food and beverage industry. Additionally, you will manage and mentor a high-performing team, share expertise, and provide strategic guidance on legal operations.
Key responsibilities include:
· Leading on all aspects of asset management for a major food and beverage client with a large property portfolio.
· Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, particularly those specific to the food and beverage sector.
· Negotiating, drafting, and overseeing complex asset management transactions, including leases, renewals, and consents.
· Managing legal risks and providing strategic advice aligned with the client's business goals.
· Leading, developing, and mentoring a team of legal professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
· Acting as the primary legal contact for the client, offering strategic solutions and insights tailored to their portfolio.
About You:
Our client is looking for a candidate who has:
· A Solicitor qualified in England & Wales with a minimum of 7 years' PQE, with significant experience in asset management.
· Experience managing complex asset management portfolios, preferably within the food and beverage sector (not essential).
· Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising more junior legal professionals, particularly paralegals.
· Strong proficiency in legal technology platforms and digital tools to enhance service delivery and manage portfolios would be advantageous.
· Commercial awareness and an understanding of industry trends and risk mitigation.
