Senior Children's Solicitor , Manchester city centre Excellent opportunity for a senior Children's Lawyer to join a top 100 firm in their Manchester city centre office. The Role The firm have an incredibly successful existing team of twelve, across the North, who focus on children and safeguarding issues in both the public and private law arenas(90% of what they do is acting for children). The teams' practice also extends to the public sector, providing advice and training in relation to safeguarding children. This includes advising a number of NHS Trusts and Academies on bespoke issues that arise in their settings, to delivering regular training to ensure such agencies are compliant in meeting their safeguarding responsibilities. There is an existing family team in Manchester who focus on private divorce, finance and children matters and they are looking to establish a team in Manchester to focus on children matters(when Local Authorities intervene)-replicating the success they've had in the other offices. They are looking for a senior solicitor or existing team to be based in Manchester, working as part of the wider team. It is essential that the incoming lawyer is on the children's panel and has experience with Guardian work(they have no parent instructions). This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a senior solicitor to lead & grow a sub team in Manchester with the benefit of a large commercial firm behind you. You will benefit from all the contracts, policies and procedures already being in place- they have already secured a legal aid contract for Manchester. They are looking for a solicitor who is a Children Law Accredited member who is capable of doing their own advocacy (the team do the majority of their own advocacy).
