BCL Legal is thrilled to partner with a prestigious UK law firm in their search for an experienced Construction Disputes Associate to join their expanding team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a construction disputes lawyer with 2+ years' PQE to work on high-profile cases within a dynamic and collaborative team. The firm offers flexible working arrangements, with a Birmingham base.
The Role
As a Construction Disputes Associate, you will:
· Advise clients on a broad range of construction and engineering disputes, from JCT and NEC-based contracts to public sector procurement and PFI matters.
· Take the lead on dispute resolution, representing clients in adjudication, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
· Work closely with senior team members, managing complex cases and building strong client relationships.
· Provide clear, practical legal advice and assist clients with contract interpretation and training.
· Support the growth and development of the team, with opportunities to supervise and mentor junior colleagues if desired.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will:
· Be a qualified solicitor with 3+ years' PQE in construction disputes or a related field.
· Have a keen interest in working with clients in the housing, local government, social business, and charity sectors.
· Be a proactive, client-focused individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
· Have experience in alternative dispute resolution methods such as adjudication and mediation (desirable but not essential).
· Be eager to contribute to business development and help drive the team's growth.
