Commercial and Procurement Lawyer | 3-8 PQE | Market-Leading Law Firm | Hybrid Working | Birmingham BCL Legal is working with a top 100 national law firm, renowned for its expertise across a range of sectors, including health, social care, housing, local government, construction, and energy. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial and Procurement Lawyer to join the firm's Commercial and Infrastructure Department in Birmingham. The team is well-regarded for its work on high-profile commercial and public sector projects, focusing on procurement processes, contract management, and complex commercial transactions. The department advises across several sectors, including healthcare, local government, and energy, with a particular focus on NHS and public sector procurement work. With a hybrid working model in place, you will benefit from a flexible approach to working, enabling a balance between personal and professional commitments. The Role: As a Commercial and Procurement Lawyer, you will: · Advise a range of public and private sector clients on complex commercial contracts and procurement processes, including those in the NHS, local government, and housing. · Play a key role in advising clients on procurement structures, helping them navigate tender processes, approvals, and planning timetables. · Provide strategic advice on procurement documents to ensure they reflect clients' objectives and support the selection of the right partners. · Work with clients on a wide variety of commercial and contractual arrangements, including joint ventures, collaborations, outsourcing, and shared services agreements. · Support the development of junior lawyers and contribute to business development and marketing initiatives to grow the department's profile, particularly in emerging areas like health and AI. · Collaborate with colleagues across the firm, including those in corporate, procurement, property, employment, and finance teams, on multidisciplinary projects. Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate will have: · 3-8 years' PQE, with experience in commercial contracts and procurement law, preferably advising public sector clients. · Strong experience with public sector procurement processes (PFI, PPP, or similar procurement frameworks). · Excellent technical skills, with the ability to understand and navigate complex legal and commercial issues. · A collaborative and proactive approach to work, with experience of supervising junior lawyers. · A passion for business development and an interest in the marketing and promotion of legal services. · The ability to liaise effectively with clients and build strong relationships. · A positive and flexible approach to working, with a strong desire to excel and progress within the firm.
