Education & Charities | Senior Associate / Legal Director - 6+ PQE | National Law Firm | Hybrid Working BCL Legal are acting on behalf of a well-regarded national law firm who are seeking a Senior Associate or Legal Director to join their highly regarded Education team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced lawyer to work with a wide range of educational establishments, including nurseries, schools, colleges, and universities. About the Role The Education team at our client has extensive collective experience in the education sector, having worked with over 300 educational establishments, ranging from independent schools to higher education institutions. You will lead on a broad range of educational matters, particularly advising on academy conversions, MAT (Multi-Academy Trust) expansions, and other key issues facing the education sector. Responsibilities: · Leading on academy conversions and advising on the expansion of Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs). · Providing strategic legal advice on educational governance, compliance, and other complex issues. · Building and maintaining strong client relationships with a range of educational institutions and stakeholders. · Managing a team of junior colleagues and offering support and mentoring. · Playing a key role in the continued development of the firm's education practice. Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will have: · 6+ years PQE with a solid grounding in education law, particularly experience in working with academies and MATs. · Exceptional technical ability and strong drafting skills. · A collaborative approach to work, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively. · Commercial acumen and the ability to provide practical, commercially-focused advice. · Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented, with a passion for education law. · A commitment to building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
